algarviada
2002"algarviada" (sold) 2002 Dissonances, Acrylic, structural paste, sand on canvas, 29x30x3 The word "algarviada" origins from "algaravia" which means "arabic". However the word algarviada ist used to express how people articulate in Algarve: very mumblesome. In general it's also used for everything which is not phonetically understandable. The Algarve ist the last arabic region of the iberic peninsula the Portuguese conquered from the Arabs. It's ancient capital was Tavira, today it is Faro.
